About MeetInk

MeetInk is made by DataOtto. It’s a meeting-notes app for Mac that records your calls without a bot, transcribes them on your Mac, and writes notes you can search and ask questions about.

Why we built it

Most meeting tools send every call to someone else’s servers, add a bot to your meetings, and charge every month. We wanted the opposite: your meetings stay on your computer, nobody else joins the call, and you pay once. Modern Macs are fast enough to transcribe and separate speakers on their own, so there’s no need to upload audio at all.

• Local-first. Recording, transcription, speaker separation and search run on your Mac. Audio never leaves it.
• One-time price. $29, with 12 months of updates. The version you have keeps working after that. No subscription.
• No account. You can use every feature without signing up. Sign-in is optional and only restores your license on another Mac.

What we believe

• Privacy is the default, not a setting. We built MeetInk so we never receive your meetings. You choose whether notes are written on your Mac or by an AI provider you pick, with your own key.
• Be honest about AI. Transcripts and AI notes can be wrong, and cost figures are estimates. We say so plainly, and answers in Ask point to the moment in the transcript they came from, so you can check.
• Your data is yours. It lives in a folder on your Mac. We can’t read it, sell it or train on it.
• No lock-in. Export your notes as plain Markdown files, to any folder, whenever you like. If you stop using MeetInk, your notes come with you.
• Plain policies. Our privacy policy, terms and security page are written to be read, and list exactly what leaves your Mac.
