MeetInk

Terms of service

Last updated 2 October 2026

Effective 2 October 2026

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (trading as DataOtto, “we”). They apply to the MeetInk app for Mac and to buying a license on this website. By downloading, buying or using MeetInk you agree to them. If you use MeetInk for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it. Our privacy policy explains how data is handled.

The software and your license

  • MeetInk is licensed, not sold. When you buy a license we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use MeetInk on Macs you own or control, for one person.
  • A license is a one-time purchase. It does not expire: you may keep using every version released within 12 months of your purchase, forever.
  • Versions released after that window may need a new purchase. The versions you already have keep working.
  • We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted. Open-source parts of the app are covered by their own licenses, which take priority for those parts.

Restrictions

You may not:

  • share, resell, publish or let others use your license key
  • remove or get around the license checks
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this restriction
  • rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, or offer it as a hosted service

Trial and free use

You can use every feature free for 14 days. After that, MeetInk stays free for up to 5 new recordings per calendar month. Recordings you already made stay available. We may change the free tier for future versions; a change won’t take away what you have already recorded.

Updates

The app can check for and install updates. Updates may add, change or remove features. You can turn off automatic downloads in Settings.

Payment and refunds

Prices are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Razorpay. See the refund policy.

Third-party services

MeetInk can work with services run by others: AI providers such as Google Gemini, Anthropic and OpenAI; Ollama; Google Calendar and Google sign-in; Slack, Zapier, Make, n8n, GitHub, Linear and Jira; and AI apps such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor. You use them under their own terms and privacy policies, with your own accounts and keys, and you pay them directly for any charges. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them. The spend estimate in the app is a guide, not a bill.

Recording laws and consent

Recording or transcribing a conversation can be illegal without the consent of everyone in it, depending on where you and the other people are. MeetInk does not join calls as a bot, so other people may not know you are recording unless you tell them. You are responsible for knowing and following the recording laws, workplace policies and agreements that apply to you, and for getting any consent they require. Our recording consent guide may help; it is not legal advice.

Your content

Your recordings, transcripts, notes and questions belong to you (or to whoever owns them under your agreements). They are stored on your Mac and we don’t receive them, so we can’t recover them if they are lost. Keep backups of anything important.

AI output can be wrong

Transcripts, speaker names, notes, answers and cost estimates are produced automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it or share it. Don’t use MeetInk as the only record for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use MeetInk to:

  • record or transcribe anyone unlawfully, or without consent the law requires
  • monitor or surveil people without their knowledge and consent
  • break anyone’s privacy, confidentiality or intellectual-property rights
  • do anything else that is illegal

Ending these terms

You can stop using MeetInk at any time by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your license key or using the app for unlawful recording, we may end your license by telling you why in writing, and you must then stop using MeetInk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as liability and governing law) continue after these terms end.

No warranty

MeetInk is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We don’t promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or capture every meeting. This doesn’t affect rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, recordings or business. Our total liability for any claim about MeetInk is limited to the amount you paid for your license (or zero if you used it free). Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because you recorded them unlawfully or otherwise broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim. This doesn’t apply to the extent the claim was caused by us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring claims in your local courts. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the problem.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. Changes don’t take away a license you already bought. If you keep using MeetInk after a change, the new terms apply.

General

If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to someone who takes over MeetInk. These terms, with the privacy and refund policies, are the whole agreement about MeetInk.
