We’re a small team and we read every message. Write to hello@dataotto.com and we usually reply within one working day. For a lost license key, write from the email address you bought with.

System requirements

  • macOS 15 or later. Apple silicon (M1 or newer) recommended for fast on-device transcription.
  • Free disk space for the speech models (downloaded once, on first launch) and for your recordings. You can free a meeting’s original audio in Settings → Storage.
  • English meetings for now.

Common fixes

It doesn’t record the other people on the call

Allow system audio: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording → turn on MeetInk, then quit and reopen MeetInk.

It doesn’t hear me

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on MeetInk. Check the input device in Settings → Recording.

I don’t see meeting notifications

System Settings → Notifications → MeetInk: allow notifications and choose the Alerts style, so they stay on screen with the Take notes button. Settings → Calendars in MeetInk has “Send test notification”. Focus modes can hide them too.

There are no notes, only a transcript

Choose a notes engine in Settings → Intelligence: Google Gemini (free tier), a local model through Ollama, or your Claude or OpenAI key. Then click “Write notes”.

“Rate limit reached” with Gemini

The free tier allows a limited number of requests per minute and per day. Wait a minute and click Rewrite notes, or enable billing on your Google account.

Ollama isn’t found

Open Ollama (it lives in your menu bar), or install it from Settings → Intelligence. MeetInk looks for it on this Mac automatically.

My calendar meetings don’t show

Settings → Calendars: allow calendar access, and turn on the calendars you want. Google Calendar can be connected there too.

Claude Code doesn’t see my meetings

Settings → Integrations → AI apps → Connect next to Claude Code, then start a new Claude Code session. See the guide to connecting AI apps.

More in the guides, starting with getting started and permissions.

Licenses and refunds

  • Your license key arrives by email right after payment. Paste it in Settings → License & account, or open the link in the email.
  • Refunds: see the refund policy.

Your data

  • Everything MeetInk records lives on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/MeetInk. Export any meeting as Markdown from its ··· menu.
  • To remove everything: quit MeetInk, move it to the Trash, and delete that folder. Keys you entered (API keys, webhook links) are stored encrypted inside it; the encryption key is in your Keychain under “MeetInk Safe Storage”, which you can delete in Keychain Access.
  • We don’t hold your meetings, so there’s nothing for us to delete. For what we do hold (purchase records, optional sign-in), see the privacy policy.
