Connect your calendars (Google, Outlook, iCloud, several accounts)
MeetInk reads the calendars on your Mac to show today's meetings, offer to record them, name recordings and add invitees. Here's how to connect one or many accounts.

MeetInk uses the calendars macOS already knows about. Every account you add to your Mac works, including several Google accounts, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Exchange and iCloud. There's no separate login in MeetInk, access is read-only, and your calendar data stays on your Mac.
Connect
- Open Settings → Calendars.
- Click Allow calendar access and allow it when macOS asks.
- Your calendars appear under Mac calendars, grouped by account.
If you clicked "Don't Allow" earlier, you'll see Open Privacy settings. Allow full access for MeetInk under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars, then come back.
Add more accounts
- In Settings → Calendars, click Add account in System Settings… (or open System Settings → Internet Accounts).
- Add Google, Microsoft Exchange / Outlook, iCloud or another account, and make sure Calendars is turned on for it.
- Back in MeetInk, click Refresh. The new calendars appear.
Choose which calendars to use
Untick any calendar you don't want (a shared team calendar, holidays, a family calendar). Turn off Watch my calendar for meetings to switch calendar features off completely.
An event counts as a meeting if it has a video-call link, or at least two attendees. You can change that number under Which meetings.
What calendars are used for
- Today. The Today page lists today's calendar meetings next to your recordings. Each one shows where it stands: Recorded, Recording, Record (it becomes clickable 5 minutes before the start) or Not recorded once it's over. Join opens the Zoom, Meet, Teams or Webex link from the event.
- Up next. The sidebar shows your next meeting today, with Join and Record.
- A prompt when a meeting starts. A notification titled with the meeting's name, with a Take notes button. Choose when it appears under Prompt timing: at the start, 1 minute or 5 minutes before. Turn on Start recording automatically when the prompt appears if you'd rather skip the click (off by default).
- Meeting titles. When you record during a calendar event, the meeting is named after the event. It also works if you start a few minutes early or late.
- Invitees. Invitees are added to the meeting. The notes engine uses them, together with what was said, to put names to the speakers.
All-day events are ignored. MeetInk never creates, changes or deletes calendar events.
Calls that aren't on your calendar
With Detect meetings from microphone activity on (the default), MeetInk also notices when a call app starts using your microphone, like "Meeting in Google Chrome" or "Slack huddle", and asks whether to take notes. Dictation and other microphone apps don't trigger it.
Meeting alerts
The notifications work best with the Alerts style, so they stay on screen and the Take notes button shows without hovering. Send test notification under Meeting alerts checks that they get through. Fixing notifications: Permissions.
